The Radford Wildcats kicked off their under-12 girls football league campaign with a 1-1 draw against Drake FC on Saturday, September 7th.
The Wildcats took an early lead through a goal from striker Mya, and goalkeeper Aria made a series of impressive saves to maintain their advantage. However, Drake FC fought back and scored a late equalizer in the final ten minutes of the game.
Midfielder Lily was recognized for her outstanding performance by the opposing team, earning the “man of the match” award. Despite being closely marked, Mya received excellent support from Rosie, Cadence, and Daisy, who helped to move the ball forward effectively.
The match was a competitive and entertaining encounter, setting the stage for what promises to be an exciting league season for both teams.
